Mercedes Mone Reveals Major Injury Suffered in AEW Women's Title Win vs. Willow at All In

Mercedes Mone's celebration was slightly delayed after defeating Willow Nightingale to win the AEW Women's World Championship at All In on Sunday.

During the All In post-show press conference, Mone revealed that she was forced to see the doctor immediately after her match for stitches for a brutal injury suffered early in the contest.

"I haven't even had time to process winning this. I was so focused on taking Willow's smile and ending her career," Mone said (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News). "I finally get to look at the title because straight after the match, I had to go to the doctor to get stitches for my nose that she broke. ... Right at the f--king beginning."

Mone appeared to suffer the injury when Nightingale threw her face first into a guardrail.

Still, the 34-year-old fought through the pain and claimed the AEW women's title for the first time in her storied career. She acknowledged that Nightingale gave her a beating at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, but she overcame the onslaught to come out on top.

"Me and Willow have had it out for each other since the day that we met. Today, all of our emotions, frustrations and history were right there in the ring," she said. "We gave it our all. She legit beat my ass all over the ring, but I beat her harder."
