AEW wrestler 'PAC,' Benjamin Satterley, dead at 40

All Elite Wrestling announced the tragic passing of wrestler Benjamin Satterley, a.k.a. "PAC," on Sunday night. He was 40 years old.

Details of Satterley's passing have not yet been released.

The death is sudden, as he wrestled at AEW's All Out pay-per-view on Saturday night in the greater Chicago area. Satterley challenged Andrade for the AEW National Championship in the evening's opening pay-per-view match, losing the title tilt before later reappearing during the show's main event between Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley.

A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley's family, friends and fans.

Debuting as a professional wrestler in his native England in 2004, Satterley quickly established himself as one of the most acclaimed high-flying workers of his generation. He competed extensively on the British independent scene before wrestling around the world for promotions including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Dragongate.

Satterley's breakout into the sport's mainstream began when he signed with WWE in 2012, performing under the ring name "Neville." Nicknamed "The Man That Gravity Forgot" because of his spectacular aerial offense, Satterley became one of the standout performers of WWE's developmental brand, NXT, before moving to the company's main roster in 2015.

During his six years with WWE, Satterley became a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, one-time NXT Champion and two-time NXT Tag Team Champion.

After parting ways with the WWE in 2018, Satterley returned to the independent scene and captured another title with Japan's Dragongate before becoming one of AEW's earliest major signings in 2019, performing under the ring name "PAC."

Satterley remained with AEW for the next seven years, competing both as a singles wrestler and, more often, as part of several prominent factions. He formed the Death Triangle in 2020 alongside Penta and Rey Fenix before joining Jon Moxley's Death Riders in 2024.

During his time in AEW, Satterley became the promotion's inaugural All-Atlantic Champion in 2022 and twice captured its World Trios Championship. His first trios title reign also made him the first wrestler in AEW history to hold two championships simultaneously.

Satterley remained an active member of AEW's roster through the final days of his life. In the week before All Out, he defeated Adam Priest and Ace Austin in televised AEW matches.

Satterley's sudden death prompted as flood of reactions and tributes across the wrestling world, many of which can be seen here . AEW founder Tony Khan wrote that Satterley "defined excellence," while Satterley's countryman, AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, called him "the greatest export from our country" and "a hero to myself and many others."
