ONE Fight Night 47 MMA And Submission Grappling Results: Henrique, Jaworski, Dantas, And Aragon Stun In Bangkok

The world's largest martial arts organization returned to U.S. primetime with ONE Fight Night 47: Stamp vs. Flores , which aired live from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, September 4, and the card's MMA and submission grappling action delivered absolute fireworks.

Not only were fans treated to a pair of highlight-reel submission victories, but they also witnessed two competitive battles that went the distance and saw momentum swing back and forth multiple times.

Before we move on to the blockbuster main event, here is everything that went down in the MMA and submission grappling matches at ONE Fight Night 47.

Henrique Grinds Out Kurosawa For Decision Win

Brazilian juggernaut Fabio "The Giant" Henrique put himself on a two-bout winning streak, as he defeated Ryohei Kurosawa by unanimous decision in their strawweight MMA bout, which featured everything from wild exchanges inside the pocket to near-finishing submission attempts.

Henrique cracked the Japanese combatant with a spinning backfist in round one, sending the 33-year-old tumbling to the canvas. The 34-year-old Brazilian followed him to the ground and looked to finish with punches, but Kurosawa showed the durability of titanium. He returned to his feet, as both men spent the rest of the stanza trading fiery shots.

Kurosawa came out swinging in round two, unloading a whirlwind of punches and accidentally poking Henrique in the eye. The Brazilian hung tough, however, and he later brought the action back to the canvas and punished his rival with ground strikes.

Both men traded hooks in the third and final round, but soon, "The Giant" took the fight back to the mat. There, he slammed punches and knees into Kurosawa's face until the Japanese veteran gave up his back. Henrique locked in an arm-triangle choke but could not force the tap before the horn sounded.

With the victory, Henrique improved his record to 16-2 and carries momentum with two straight victories in the world's largest martial arts organization.

Jaworski Shocks Lovato Jr. With Kneebar Submission

In the battle of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champions, Pawel Jaworski emerged victorious.

Jaworski, an IBJJF No-Gi World Champion, forced four-time BJJ World Champion Rafael Lovato Jr. to tap out from a lateral kneebar at the 1:51 mark of their middleweight submission grappling bout.

The 22-year-old Polish star locked up with Lovato Jr. early, but he eventually climbed onto his back and suffocated him with a tangle of arms and legs, clinging to him like an octopus latched onto its prey as he hunted for submissions.

Jaworski then shimmied around to the front, but the 43-year-old Oklahoma resident slammed him to the canvas in an attempt to break free of the grip. The Polish dynamo, who made his middleweight debut, was not deterred though. He hung on tight and then transitioned smoothly into the lateral kneebar that forced the tap.

The stunning finish earned Jaworski a US$50,000 bonus and moved his career record to 44-8.

Dantas Outlasts Almonacid In Back-And-Forth War

Brazilian sensation Pedro "Guerreiro" Dantas outworked Argentine promotional newcomer Hector "La Araña" Almonacid to score a unanimous decision victory in their featherweight MMA bout.

Dantas took control in the opening stanza, picking his shots from the outside with low kicks and long punches. Almonacid closed the distance with the clinch, where he accidentally landed a low blow.

Once the action resumed, the 23-year-old from Guerreiros Team landed some solid knees to the body, stuffed the Argentine's takedown attempts, put him on the ground, and unloaded some effective ground-and-pound.

The Brazilian survived an early scare in the second. After bringing his rival down with a modified ninja choke, Almonacid escaped and returned to his feet. Then, he landed a double-leg takedown, slid into full mount, and rained down punches. However, Dantas brilliantly reversed course and got inside his 24-year-old foe's guard, where he dished out some blows of his own.

Almonacid once again scored a takedown and secured full mount in the third round, where he punished "Guerreiro" with punches until the Brazilian gave up his back. "La Araña" unsuccessfully searched for a rear-naked choke, and once more, Dantas reversed course, reclaimed top position, and closed out the fight with more ground-and-pound.

The back-and-forth battle went the distance, with the judges siding unanimously with Dantas. That victory – the first in ONE Championship for the Brazilian – upped his record to 7-1.

Aragon Submits Fujimoto With Scarf-Hold Americana

Macarena Aragon returned to the winner's circle in highlight-reel fashion, as she submitted Japanese-Brazilian rising star Gabi Fujimoto via scarf-hold Americana in the third and final round of their atomweight MMA contest.

Aragon set the tone early, as she tied her opponent up in the corner, exchanged clinch knees, and then hip-tossed her to the canvas, where she began setting up the scarf hold and hunting for submissions.

The pair traded knees in the clinch during the second stanza, but the Argentine once again dragged the fight to the mat, where she dominated with submission attempts and ground strikes.

Aragon picked up where she left off in the final canto, as she brought her foe back to the canvas and eventually locked in the scarf-hold Americana to force the tap at the 2:06 mark of round three.

That finish capped a decisive grappling performance for Aragon, who scored her sixth professional win.
