UFC president Dana White brushed off a viral video of welterweight contender Joaquin Buckley refusing to shake his hand.
When asked about Buckley's perceived diss at Friday's weigh-ins, White joked that Buckley's second-round knockout loss to Mike Malott at Saturday's UFC Fight Night in Edmonton, Alberta, almost cost him his roster spot.
"As soon as he lost, I told Hunter to cut him," White said before adding with a laugh, "I'm f--king joking."
Buckley snubbed White's handshake as he faced off with Malott on Friday, and he followed that up by refusing to answer any questions in his pre-fight interview:
Despite Buckley's antics, White said he didn't feel disrespected because he knows every fighter handles pressure differently.
"Yes, I have no problem with Joaquin Buckley. I've been in this business for so long, you can't take any of that stuff personal," he said. "I just stay out of everybody's way. However you're dealing with fight week is your business and your deal. It's all good."
