Though judge Martha Tremblay matched the B/R card with a 114-114 call, she was overruled by Krysti Rosario and Fernando Villarreal, who each gave Serrano a 116-112 victory—awarding her eight of 12 rounds.

"There are going to be a lot of observers who look at that fight," blow-by-blow man Corey Erdman said, "and wonder where did you get eight rounds for Amanda Serrano."

Manzur threw and landed more punches, but Serrano was sharper and more accurate, particularly down the stretch.

"These girls are getting younger and stronger. Thank God I'm almost getting out of the game," Serrano said. "I've got one more fight. If I don't get (the KO record), I'm glad I'm tied with Christy Martin."
