Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua Fight Details Revealed in Latest Rumors on Location, Date, Start Time

The highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is reportedly getting closer to being official.

According to Chris McKenna of The Athletic, "sources with knowledge of the plans" said that Fury and Joshua's match is likely to take place on Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The sources noted that the date "is not confirmed yet and could move."

ESPN's James Dielhenn reported that Matchroom's Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, "all but confirmed the dream fight is close to being agreed" upon for the Dec. 11 date. To maximize the worldwide audience on Netflix, Hearn added that the fight will start later than usual, but not as late as some fans fear.

"People talk about a 3 a.m. BST [10 p.m. ET] fight? I don't think you'll see the fight that late," Hearn said. "But obviously there had to be conversations with the stadium about what's possible and what is not possible. That's probably a reason for the delay [of the official announcement] -- to make sure everything is boxed off with the council to have a slightly later start time."

Fury and Joshua signed contracts in April to face each other later this year, but months of contentious negotiations created concerns over whether their long-awaited fight would ever come to fruition. It sounds like things are moving in the right direction, as Hearn indicated that he and Joshua are satisfied with the current plans.

"Over the past week or two, we made our decision. AJ was the guy leading that decision," Hearn said. "We weren't interested in accepting extra money or changing the terms of the agreement to change the location. He wanted to make sure the fight was in the UK. Since then, they have accepted that. We are working together and speaking to Netflix to lock in the date. I think the date is locked in."
