Ex-WWE Champ Jack Swagger Suffers 'Worst Injury in Power Slap or UFC History,' Says Dana White

Jake Hager, who previously wrestled in WWE as Jack Swagger, had a rough night during Thursday's Power Slap event in Las Vegas.

After Hager lost to Johnny Magna via TKO, UFC president and Power Slap co-owner Dana White said the former wrestling champ suffered the "worst injury in Power Slap or UFC history."

White added he wouldn't let the production crew show the replay and the belief is Hager tore his tear duct.

The injury occurred when Magna delivered a slap and either part of his hand or one of his finger made contact with Hager's left eye. Hager put his hand up to check his face then appeared to tell the referee that Magna "hit me right in the eye."

Blood started to seep out of his eye, resulting in the ringside doctor waving off the match.

Hager wrestled in WWE from 2006 to '17. He was later an early AEW signee, aligning with Chris Jericho on the debut episode of Dynamite in October 2019. He left AEW in 2024 when his contract expired.

Power Slap signed Hager to a contract in March and he has had three matches in six months. He won his debut over Devin Jenkins but has lost his last two bouts, both via stoppage.
