Jon Moxley Beats Nigel McGuinness to Retain AEW Continental Title at All In 2026 at Wembley

Jon Moxley beat Nigel McGuinness in McGuinness' hometown of London at AEW All In on Sunday to retain the Continental Championship.

Sunday's bout was the culmination of the Continental Challenge Cup, which saw 16 AEW stars compete for the opportunity to have a continental title match at All In.

Despite holding the Continental Championship since December, Mox was included in the tourney, meaning he would have to run the table in order to keep the title in his possession.

Moxley impressively made his way to the finals by beating Jack Perry in the first round and Jay White in the quarterfinals before getting the better of Death Riders stablemate Claudio Castagnoli in the semis.

At 50 years of age, McGuinness was the oldest participant in the tournament, but he was a sentimental favorite due to the possibility of him getting to have a big match in his home country of England at All In.

McGuinness quickly went from an underdog to a true title contender by beating Katsuyori Shibata in the first round, Hechicero in the quarterfinals and Kyle O'Reilly in the semifinals.

With that, McGuinness' ticket was punched to Wembley Stadium and his biggest match since returning to the squared circle two years ago.

McGuinness ended a 13-year absence from in-ring competition at All In 2024 by taking part in the Casino Gauntlet, and it was fitting that his match against Moxley happened at the same venue.

While McGuinness' return has been a great story in pro wrestling, a one-on-one match against arguably the most successful wrestler in AEW history at All In was an entirely different challenge than anything else he has faced the past two years.

Although McGuinness looked like he belonged on Sunday, Mox denied him what would have been the first title win of his AEW career.
