Raoni Barcelos Hospitalized After Leaving UFC Fight Night Main Event on Stretcher

UFC fighter Raoni Barcelos was hospitalized at a Level 1 trauma center in the aftermath of Saturday's loss to Raul Rosas Jr.

UFC released a statement that said Barcelos was "stable, alert and responsive, with full movement" after undergoing a CT scan.

As ESPN's Jeff Wagenheim described, Barcelos "appeared to lose consciousness after a fifth-round takedown and was carried from the cage on a stretcher" at the end of the UFC Fight Night matchup in Las Vegas.

Wagenheim noted Barcelos' coach, Davi Ramos, provided an update on Saturday as well and said, "everything is fine, everyone can stay calm."

As for the fight itself, Rosas was trailing heading into the final round but was more aggressive toward the end. After he slammed Barcelos to the mat, the referee stopped the fight when it seemed as if the 39-year-old was unconscious.

Rosas, who became the youngest fighter to ever sign with UFC at 17 years old in 2022, has now won six fights in a row.

However, he was focused on his opponent in the aftermath as well.

"I want everybody tonight to please pray for Raoni Barcelos," he said in his postfight interview to the crowd. "Man, he's a warrior. It takes two to tango."

UFC's statement said Barcelos "will remain under medical supervision. We will provide updates on his condition as they become available."
