UFC Hall of Famer makes color commentary debut at DWCS 91

Chris Weidman will continue to expand his horizons after retiring from MMA when he joins the commentary booth for the first time at Dana White's Contender Series 91 .

Weidman, a former UFC middleweight champion who was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class this summer, has found a post-career path for himself as a desk analyst on UFC broadcasts, as well as a co-host of Paramount's "Deep Waters" podcast alongside Dustin Poirier , Jorge Masvidal and Din Thomas.

Now Weidman will get the chance to call fights as part of Tuesday's DWCS 91 broadcast, a person with knowledge of the situation verified to MMA Junkie.

Weidman will join fellow color commentator Laura Sanko and play-by-play man Dan Hellie in the three-person commentary booth for the five-bout card from Meta APEX in Las Vegas ( Paramount+ ).

The 42-year-old Weidman (16-8 MMA, 12-8 UFC) last competed in MMA in December 2024, when he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Eryk Anders at UFC 310. The American is one of 14 fighters in UFC history to win an undisputed title with an undefeated record.
