Tony Ferguson lands knockout win at Misfits Boxing event

The Tony Ferguson hype train is still rolling.

Not even a last-minute opponent change could stop Ferguson from delivering another standout performance during Misfits Boxing's event in Miami. 'El Cucuy' faced off against Mahmoud Sebie in the co-headliner on Saturday night, defending his MFB Middleweight title. The win extends his streak to three straight with the promotion, but the finish has people talking.

In the opening round, Sebie knocked Tony Ferguson down with a left hook, but Ferguson bounced right back to his feet. The bout looked like a normal Misfits-level boxing match until Sebie stood still, allowing Ferguson to land three unanswered punches on him, dropping him to the canvas in bizarre fashion.

Then, early in the second, it looked like Mahmoud Sebie was his normal self. Throwing power punches early, he caught Tony Ferguson again, wobbling him on his feet. Ferguson fought back and avoided further big shots. Then, just seconds later, Sebie backed himself into the corner and allowed Ferguson to unleash unanswered shots on him. The former UFC star emptied the tank, throwing a long combination of strikes and forcing the referee to step in and end the fight.

An incredibly strange clash between the two. However, Tony Ferguson won't be complaining as he comes away with yet another win. How he has managed to rejuvenate his career after eight straight losses to end his UFC tenure should be studied.
