AEW Dynamite and Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction, Highlights Before All Out

Before we head to All Out this weekend, AEW gave us a special combined three-hour Dynamite and Collision as the go-home show.

Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Wednesday's show:

The New Level and Swerve Strickland vs. The Demand (Trios Titles)

Will Ospreay and Mike Bailey vs. Gabe Kidd and Claudio Castagnoli

Jon Moxley vs. Dezmond Xavier (Continental Title Eliminator)

Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion face-to-face meeting

Let's take a look at what happened on this week's combined Dynamite and Collision.

Swerve and New Level vs. The Demand (Trios Titles)

Dynamite opened up with the announcers running down the card for the night before we went to a backstage promo from The Demand. We also got a quick promo from Prince Nana, Swerve, Kofi and Austin Creed before both teams went to the ring for the opening contest.

The Trios Championships were on the line, and whichever team left Dynamite with the belts would head into All Out to defend against Adam Page and Brodido.

AEW has done a good job injecting some life into the trios division recently, and these two teams are a great representation of what this division can be if booked properly.

Swerve and Ricochet started the match by trading punches, but it didn't take long before they started incorporating some fast-paced offense. Swerve and New Level were especially efficient with some of their triple-team attacks.

All six men contributed to a fun match, but knowing what all of them are capable of, we couldn't help but feel like they were holding back a bit. The match was good, but it took a while before it felt like they were doing anything truly exciting.

The second half picked up quite a bit as the fight spilled out of the ring, but they ended up going a little too fast in some spots and made mistakes that stood out. Swerve and New Level secured the win to retain their titles after a fun final sequence.

Hangman and Brodido came out to confront the champions and hype their match for All Out.

Result: Swerve and New Level defeated The Demand

It's so easy to forget that Christian Cage was the reason Gates of Agony turned on Swerve.

Kofi and Creed have a different level of chemistry than most teams in AEW. Other than the Bucks, few duos have the kind of experience they have as partners. They can almost read each other's minds.

The Doomsday Device GOA used on Swerve looked good.

Kofi and Kaun had a very awkward spot late in the match. It was hard to tell what was supposed to happen.

The way Kaun set himself up for Swerve's double stomp from the apron looked way too contrived.

Xavier got a chance to earn a shot at the continental title this week when he took on Moxley in an Eliminator match. Due to the rules of the match, nobody else was allowed to be at ringside.

Xavier was giving up a lot of size and power, so it was surprising to see him engage in a lockup to start the match instead of using his speed to avoid it.

The first half of this was all Moxley. He was his usual aggressive self and didn't hold back against the Rascal one bit. It took until after the commercial break for Xavier to make any kind of headway.

While this match had some enjoyable moments, it never hit its stride. The predictability of the outcome was a factor, but there was a distinct lack of chemistry between the opponents until the last couple of minutes.

Moxley won by forcing Xavier to tap out to a sleeper. Marina Shafir showed up after the match and looked like she might attack Xavier, but he escaped unscathed.

Will Ospreay offered Mike Bailey a spot in United Empire during a backstage segment. Speedball accepted his offer.

Thekla gave a hilarious promo backstage.

Some of Xavier's strikes looked a little listless. He might have been worn out by that point in the match.

The Young Bucks, FTR, Christian Cage and Adam Copeland came out to hype their three-way title match coming up at All Out this weekend.

Stokely Hathaway said they were only there so they don't get fined by Tony Khan. The Bucks compared FTR to the Dudleys, which got a laugh from the crowd.

Cage made some jokes about everyone's moms until Copeland stopped him. All three teams talked some trash and dished out some insults, and it eventually broke down into a brawl.

A couple of security guards ended up getting taken out when they tried to take chairs away from Cope and Cage. The champions ended the segment standing tall.

This was pretty standard stuff. It was nothing groundbreaking, but they did their job hyping their upcoming bout.

Tommaso Ciampa made his way to the ring to battle Don Callis family member, Jake Doyle, before he faces Kazuchika Okada for the international title this weekend.

As soon as the bell rang, Ciampa went after Doyle in the corner. He kept the powerhouse off balance and tossed him out of the ring before nailing him with a big running knee right in the face.

This was designed to be a warm-up match for Ciampa, so there was no doubt that he would win, but he and Doyle did a great job making this fun even though we all knew who would win in the end.

Even though Doyle had a big size advantage, Ciampa never once felt like an underdog, which is a testament to how he has been booked to feel like a dangerous threat to just about anyone.

The Psycho Killer got the win, but he was favoring his shoulder after it was over. He issued a warning to Okada, which caused The Rainmaker to come out and respond.

Ciampa is great at hiding when he slaps his thigh for moves like his running knee strike.

Jake Something was a way more interesting name than Jake Doyle. It's too bad he can't use it in AEW for some reason.

The TBS Championship was up for grabs when Persephone defended the belt against Hyan. The champion's ally, Britt Baker, joined the commentary team.

Persy took control right out of the gate and almost got the pin, but the challenger stayed in the fight and started to make a comeback.

This was yet another match that felt pretty predictable, but they still made it feel competitive, especially once they had been going for a few minutes and had gotten comfortable with each other.

Persy is great at playing a bully because she is legitimately more powerful than most of the women on the roster, so it helped Hyan fall into the underdog role nicely.

Persephone cheated to win when she held the ropes for leverage during a pin, but the ref was oblivious.

It's nice to see Hyan getting some singles opportunities after Maya World was given such a strong push.

Baker was being pretty funny on commentary. She has fallen right back into being a great heel.

The newest member of United Empire teamed up with the world champion this week when Ospreay and Bailey took on Kidd and Castagnoli in tag team action.

Gabe and Claudio were not looking for a fair and competitive match. They went right after Ospreay and Bailey with malice. It took a couple of minutes before Speedball took Kidd down with a missile dropkick to turn the tide in his favor.

Speedball and Billy Goat both favor a fast-paced, high-flying style, so whenever they were in control, the match was more exciting. Whenever it was Kidd and Castagnoli, it felt more brutal.

This was a hard-hitting, competitive match that definitely outshone just about everything else on the show. This bout gave us a little bit of everything, so no matter what kind of wrestling you enjoy, the chances were good that you could see it here.

Ospreay got the win for his team by pinning Claudio with a Styles Clash.

Result: Ospreay and Bailey defeated Kidd and Castagnoli

Bailey was just added to United Empire tonight but he already has matching gear for the group.

The way Ospreay jumped onto the barricade, turned around and hit a flying forearm was awesome.

Moxley saying Castagnoli has countered every headscissor moments before he got taken down with one was hilarious timing.

Before they head to All Out to compete in a Street Fight for the women's tag titles, Divine Dominion and The Brawling Birds had a segment with Renee Paquette.

Megan Bayne and Lena Kross had a table brought out with tea and snacks as a gift for Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor.

It was meant to be kind of insulting, but Hayter and Windsor seemed excited to drink some tea and have some biscuits.

They ended up smashing the cups into Kross and Bayne's faces to start a fight. The former champions got the upper hand and bodyslammed both champions on the stage to end the fight.

This was short and sweet. It didn't need to be more than what it was, but some might see the segment as too simple at this stage in their feud.

Jack Perry gave a quick promo about facing Katsuyori Shibata at All Out.

The Outrunners vs. Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight

Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd were in action this week against the duo of Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. Dalton Castle came out with The Outrunners, but he did not remain at ringside.

Even though The Outrunners are a good duo, this almost felt like a glorified squash. We all knew they were brought in to give Fletcher and Knight an easy win.

The match was entertaining for what it was, and it wasn't totally one-sided, but out of everything else on the show, this is the match that you could bet on the outcome and be right every single time.

Knight and Fletcher continue to look dominant as a tag team heading into their match against Steven Borden and Darby Allin this weekend. The Outrunners had a nice comeback in the second half, but they eventually fell to The Jet and Protostar when Knight pinned Floyd.

Result: Fletcher and Knight defeated The Outrunners

The Outrunners are such a fun team and they should be used more on AEW television.

Knight has really upped every level of his game. Even his strikes are looking crisper these days.

Mercedes Mone came out to watch Queen Aminata battle Skye Blue from the commentary table. Julia Hart accompanied Skye to the ring, and Mina Shirakawa was there with Aminata.

The last time these two tussled was almost a year ago in a tag team match, but it took them almost no time to find their groove.

Blue tried to be a bully early on, but Aminata made her pay for it with some stiff strikes. They were pacing themselves, but every move felt like it mattered.

Unfortunately, there was a little too much trash-talking going on at different times throughout the match, and it hurt the flow of the action in places.

The good news is they were not holding back and made every strike look brutal. The match didn't end until after the third hour in the show was up, and with one bout to go after this, we knew we were in for a long overrun.

Blue put up a good fight, but the Queen scored the win with a nasty running kick to the face. Julia and Mina got involved in the fight once the match was over. Thekla came in and gave the Sisters of Sin an unfair advantage, but Willow showed up to even the odds.

Chris Jericho came out before this match to give a promo. Nick Wayne joined him to talk about what happened the last time they were in the ring together. Wayne challenged him to a match at Grand Slam France.

Mone was wearing a protective face mask that was bedazzled to match her outfit.

Blue's suplex from the steps to the floor looked great. It was a brutal spot.

The main event of the night saw Pac take on Ace Austin in singles competition. The entire Bang Bang Gang came out but did not accompany Austin all the way to the ring.

In some ways, these men are carbon copies of each other. They are both short, muscular high-flyers who can wrestle you from the air or the mat. Pac had the edge in experience, but they were evenly matched in every other category.

This was a fantastic display of skill from two guys who don't often get the credit they deserve. Pac has always been known to be an incredible talent, but Austin is still new to many U.S. fans, so this was a good chance for him to impress some people.

Austin put up a good fight, but he was unable to kick out of the Black Arrow.

Juice Robinson dressing like a coach was pretty funny.

Austin doing squats with Pac on his shoulders was great.

The belly-to-belly suplex Pac used to throw Ace into the corner was awesome.

The special three-hour Dynamite and Collision ended up going closer to three and a half hours, but it felt like AEW made good use of the time.

Every match had something to offer, and most of the feuds that will make up the card for All Out were addressed directly or indirectly.

While Austin and Pac had a good main event, the best thing on the entire show was the tag match with Bailey and Ospreay taking on Kidd and Castagnoli.

The All Out card has the potential to be a great show, and Wednesday's episode did a good job selling it.
