Will Ospreay Beats Jon Moxley to Retain AEW Title at All Out After Historic Win vs. Kenny Omega

Will Ospreay defeated Jon Moxley at All Out on Saturday to retain the AEW World Championship.

Ospreay won after hitting Moxley with the Hidden Blade.

This match featured interference from the Death Riders when Ospreay had the upper hand and the referee was temporarily knocked out.

However, Ospready had his own reinforcements, including help from Francesco Akira, "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Andrade El Ídolo.

Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter got involved to counter Marina's efforts.

Later in the match, Ospreay found himself on the wrong end of briefcase attacks.

Moxley soon locked in the Bulldog Choke. However, Ospreay bit his way out of it and turned the tide. He hit a Hidden Blade and Storm Breaker for a near-fall before another Hidden Blade did the job.

Saturday marked Ospreay's first pay-per-view title defense since beating Kenny Omega in the main event of All In last month.

Wrestling in his hometown of London at Wembley Stadium, Ospreay put on a match of the year contender with Omega and won AEW's top prize for the first time in the process.

Leading up to his All In match against Omega, Ospreay was heavily influenced by Moxley, as Ospreay had agreed to train with Mox and The Death Riders in an effort to develop a killer instinct.

Ospreay had been rivals with Moxley and The Death Riders, as they put him out of commission with a neck injury after attacking him last year at Forbidden Door.

Despite that, Ospreay and Moxley formed a bond, and Mox's guidance helped Ospreay win the Owen Hart Cup and secure an AEW world title opportunity at All In.

Ospreay had a falling out with The Death Riders at Redemption when he refused to attack Omega following Omega's successful title defense against Kevin Knight, but the bad blood didn't last for long.

Before Ospreay made his entrance at All In, Mox emerged and handed him a flag, while also giving a nod of approval regarding Ospreay's pursuit of the AEW World Championship.

Coming out of All In, Ospreay was firmly in the crosshairs of numerous wrestlers who wanted a shot at the world title, but based on his résumé and his history with Ospreay, Moxley was the first one to be given an opportunity.

Ospreay got his title reign off to an ideal start at All In by beating the most decorated performer in AEW history, and denying Moxley's attempt to extend his record by becoming a five-time AEW world champ.
