The Golden State Warriors spent much of the summer trying to piece together their roster after missing out on LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They ultimately assembled a roster with enough depth to help support Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

One of the additions was former first-round pick Dalen Terry, whom Golden State signed to a non-guaranteed deal.

"The Golden State Warriors and Dalen Terry have agreed to a deal, league sources told hoopshype. Terry, the 18th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, has played four combined NBA seasons with the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers ," HoopsHype's Michael Scotto wrote.

Terry was originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls before joining the Philadelphia 76ers in February of last season. Philadelphia looked to develop him, but the organization eventually needed to clear roster space for LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

"The Sixers waive Dalen Terry to clear space for LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Terry, a former first-round pick, had a non-guaranteed contract for the upcoming season. Philadelphia must still move one additional player to create enough room for both additions," NBA writer Jake Weinbach wrote.

With the regular season approaching, the Warriors need to finalize their 15-man roster. Terry will be one of the players affected by those roster decisions.

"The Warriors are planning on waiving Dalen Terry before Monday and having him join the Santa Cruz Warriors, sources told ClutchPoints. Terry is a player the Warriors like and will continue developing in the G League. Tonight is the team's final preseason game against POR," NBA insider Brett Siegel posted.

The positive for Terry is that Golden State still sees potential in him and wants to continue developing him. The Warriors are giving him an opportunity to improve in the G League, but he will need to make the most of that chance if he hopes to return to the NBA.

This does not have to be the end of Terry's NBA aspirations. He can continue working on his game with the Santa Cruz Warriors and try to earn another opportunity at the highest level. For now, however, his path back to the NBA will likely begin in the G League.
