Kenyon Giles, Tre White can play another year under new court ruling

WICHITA, KAN. (KSNW) — A judge in Indiana on Wednesday ruled in favor of college athletes seeking a fifth year of eligibility.
The Monroe County judge issued a preliminary injunction temporarily barring the NCAA from enforcing a rule that limits who can get a fifth year of eligibility.
Wichita State 's Kenyon Giles and Kansas ' Tre White were listed in the lawsuit and have been given another year of eligibility, for now.
The NCAA is expected to appeal the ruling, according to the Associated Press , and numerous other lawsuits on the issue are playing out in court .
Giles led the Shockers in scoring last season (19.1 points per game) and ranked third in the American Conference. Last year was his first season with WSU after spending one season at UNC Greensboro and two years at Radford.
White averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Jayhawks. Both marks were second on the team. He spent a season each at USC, Louisville and Illinois before heading to Lawrence.
The college basketball regular season begins Nov. 2.
