"I just feel like it's a learning lesson," Wilson said.

He also took responsibility for the turnovers, committed himself to correcting his mistakes, and looked ahead to the next game.

Wilson's maturity has already endeared him to those who expect nothing but the best from him. The No. 4 draft pick out of North Carolina has to shoulder the burden of carrying the Bulls from the doldrums of the NBA back to some semblance of legitimacy.

Undoubtedly, Wilson's ascendancy has become a focal point for an organization in the midst of a top-down rebuild.

He's already shown his potential preparation for his first season. In the NBA Summer League, Wilson made the All-Summer League First Team , averaging 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks. In the preseason, Wilson was on top of his game . He averaged 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Wilson's on-court talent, combined with his leadership, makes him a strong candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year.

The Bulls will travel to Milwaukee to play against the Bucks on Friday night. It was added to make way for Game 1 of the World Series. Then, they will play in their home opener against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
