Fever fall to Lynx, drop to No. 6 playoff seed as Ty Harris, Aliyah Boston exit with injuries

Indiana Fever guard Tyasha Harris exited Thursday's loss to the Minnesota Lynx with what appears to be a severe ankle injury. Minnesota ended up handily beating Indiana, 86-66 , holding the Fever to a season low in points.

After going up for a layup in the third quarter of Thursday's game, Harris went down, clutching her left ankle and clearly in a lot of pain. She had to be carried off the court by staff, who took her back into the locker room.

The Fever officially ruled her out shortly afterward with a left ankle injury.

Earlier in the game, Indiana had lost Aliyah Boston to a right lower leg injury, with the star center checking out in the second quarter. Boston did not start in the second half, with the team ruling Boston out for the rest of the game during the third quarter. After the game, head coach Stephanie White didn't have an update on Harris , but said Boston experienced a flare-up of the lower leg injury she had earlier this season.

The game, which marked the regular-season finale for both teams, only held seeding significance for Indiana. A win would've made them the No. 5 seed and sent them to Atlanta to play the Dream. Instead, they secured the No. 6 spot. Both teams clinched their playoff spots last month, with Minnesota securing the No. 1 overall seed on Tuesday.

A lack of urgency was a little obvious in the matchup, especially from the Fever, who saw an uncharacteristically low-scoring game. The Fever scored just nine points in the third quarter, and star guard Caitlin Clark had an off night, scoring just two points off 1-of-12 shooting from the floor.

Minnesota, meanwhile, had a hot 62-point first half before letting its starters take a break on the bench. Kayla McBride ended with 22 points for the Lynx, and Natasha Howard chipped in 21 points; Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell , who scored 10 points, was the only other player on either team to break double digits.
