Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić had quite the back-and-forth during Wednesday night's season-opener for both teams, with Lendeborg ultimately getting hit with a technical foul.

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr appreciated Lendeborg not backing down, with one small caveat:

Dončić ultimately had the last laugh, as the Lakers won 127-105 behind his 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. But Lendeborg—who held Dončić to 1-of-6 shooting from the field when he was the primary defender on him—had plenty to say about the Lakers' star after the contest.

"I had a lot of respect for him [because] I didn't really watch the NBA much," he told reporters. "I just watched highlights and seen him kill people. But being in it firsthand and seeing all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect. ... I guess this is what the NBA is like, man. A lot of flopping, a lot of foul baiting, a lot of praying to the refs, man. Interesting first game for me."
