Keyonte George, Jazz Reportedly Agree to New Contract, Full Details Revealed in NBA Rumors

As the Utah Jazz continue to build for the short- and long-term future, Keyonte George is going to play a significant role after agreeing to a long-term contract extension.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon , George and the Jazz agreed to terms on a five-year, $157.5 million deal on Friday.

Drafted in 2023 with one of the picks Utah received from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Rudy Gobert trade, George has developed into a major piece for the franchise.

The 22-year-old has increased his offensive efficiency every season of his career thus far. He averaged a career-high 23.6 points on 45.6 percent shooting (37.1 percent from three) and 6.1 assists per game in 54 starts during the 2025-26 campaign.

George's .609 true shooting percentage ranked second on the team to Svi Mykhailiuk (.626) among players who appeared in at least 50 games for the Jazz.

In addition to his on-court importance for the Jazz, George also proved to be a good-luck charm for them in other ways. He was their representative at the draft lottery when they moved up to win the No. 2 overall pick.

It marked the first time in franchise history that the Jazz have ever moved up in the lottery with their own pick.

Thanks to their good lottery luck, the Jazz suddenly find themselves with a very interesting roster going forward. George, Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Ace Bailey and Darryn Peterson is a solid core going into next season.

Plus, the Jazz added extra draft capital in a sign-and-trade deal with the Los Angeles Lakers for Walker Kessler to give them additional options to potentially add more talent to that core.

Coming off four consecutive losing seasons, including a total of 39 wins over the last two seasons combined, the Jazz need to start taking steps forward.
