Damian Lillard Explains Process Behind Achieving 100K Shots Goal in New Video Amid Injury Rehab

Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard explained what led to his goal of making 100,000 shots while missing the entire 2025-26 season as he recovered from a torn Achilles .

Lillard revealed that the process started after he was putting up shots that were tracked by Portland's staff once he was cleared to resume basketball activities.

"Eventually once I got to about 8,000 I was like 'By this time next year, I'm gonna try to make 100,000,'" Lillard said in a video posted by the Trail Blazers on X (0:25 mark). "Then we really started tracking every workout that I did. We made sure that those numbers went into the system. Today was the day that I was able to cross over that 100,000 mark."

The nine-time All-Star previously revealed that he reached his goal, which started in Sept. 2025, in a post on his Instagram Story .

Lillard has already established himself as one of the greatest long-range shooters in NBA history, as he sits at No. 5 on the league's all-time three-point shooting leaderboard .

He remained active despite being sidelined last season, as he still ended up winning the 3-Point Contest during the 2026 All-Star festivitiues.

Lillard will now look to return during his 2026-27 campaign and provide a boost to a Trail Blazers squad that ended a four-year playoff drought last season.
