Teams attempted to move one step closer to the 2026 WNBA Finals as the semifinal round of the playoffs continued on Wednesday night.

The Atlanta Dream secured a 101-98 win over the New York Liberty in the opening contest of the day, as Atlanta took a 2-0 series lead.

The Golden State Valkyries also gained a 2-0 edge in their series against the Las Vegas Aces, wrapping up an 83-81 victory.

Four quarters weren't enough to decide the winner of Game 2 between New York and Atlanta, as Liberty rookie Marine Fauthoux connected on a game-tying three to send the contest to overtime.

The Dream were ultimately able to emerge victorious with a balanced offensive approach, as six players finished with double-digit scoring totals.

This included Angel Reese, who scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds while shooting 8-of-16 from the field. Reese made her presence felt defensively as well, picking up two blocks and one steal.

Jordin Canada was also a key contributor for Atlanta, finishing with 23 points, eight assists, five rebounds and one steal. Canada shot 9-of-15 on field goals, which included 3-of-6 from behind the arc.

The Liberty couldn't pick up their first win of the series despite an impressive performance from Breanna Stewart, as she scored a game-high 35 points on 11-of-21 shooting.

In the second game of the day, Golden State was in control for the majority of the contest.

The Valkyries took a double-digit lead in the first quarter and maintained a 64-47 edge with just under two minutes remaining in the third.

Las Vegas immediately went on a 27-10 run to tie the contest with two minutes left in the fourth, though.

The Aces briefly jumped in front with a layup by A'ja Wilson, but Golden State gained the lead once again with a three-pointer from Veronica Burton.

Las Vegas couldn't respond, as the Valkyries hit free throws to seal the win.

Tiffany Hayes scored a team-high 21 points in 17 minutes off the bench for Golden State, while Gabby Williams chipped in with 20 points and five rebounds to go along with three assists.

Wilson finished with 24 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough for Las Vegas to avoid a 2-0 series deficit.
