For the first time since 2016, the Atlanta Dream have won a playoff series.

Angel Reese and the No. 4-seeded Dream won Game 2 of their first-round series against the No. 5 Washington Mystics 93-75 to clinch the series and set up a matchup against the New York Liberty in the semifinals.

While Atlanta led virtually the entire way, Washington managed to stay within striking distance for most of the night. A run from Atlanta in the second gave it a 13-point lead, but the Mystics cut it down to six points heading into the break.

The Dream's Allisha Gray came out hot in the third quarter, scoring seven straight points to create some breathing room.

The biggest lead for Atlanta in the third was 15 points, but Washington was able to keep the pressure on and trimmed it down to seven points heading into the final period.

The Mystics trailed by just three points with just over half of the fourth quarter play, but another push from the Dream extended the lead to 16 points, enough to keep Washington from mounting a comeback.

While Atlanta is the higher seed against New York, the Liberty can't be counted out, especially after their first-round performance. Led by a tremendous showing from Breanna Stewart, New York downed the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx in two games to advance to the semifinal.

The Liberty are looking to win their second title in three years, but the Dream are keen on stopping them from getting there. It should be quite the series.
