How to watch Nets vs Knicks: Live stream NBA Basketball, TV channel

Brooklyn hopes to build on its first win of the season as it travels cross-town to take on New York.

Atlantic Division rivals New York and Brooklyn face on Monday as the Nets attempt to end a horrific run of 14 consecutive defeats to the title-holding Knicks. Almost four years have passed since Brooklyn last won a game in the Battle of the Boroughs, though morale is high after Jordi Fernandez's side finally got their first win of the season.

The Nets fought hard to triumph 98-90 on the road to Indiana on Sunday, though they're still bringing up the rear in the Eastern Conference as things stand. The 2-4 Knicks will feel more rested after a full weekend off, meanwhile, having lost 98-93 to Philadelphia on Friday before seeking back-to-back wins at Madison Square Garden.

Brooklyn's dire start to the campaign means they're currently bottom of the rankings (or near enough) in numerous major metrics. The team is averaging 36.0 field goals made (29th in the league), 22.8 assists (27th), 18.0 turnovers (27th) and 26.5 fouls committed (29th), but there's potential in abundance among a young line-up.

The Knicks are averaging fewer points scored per game (107) than Brooklyn (108.2), but fans know there's enough talent out of possession to render that meaningless. That much was on display when these teams last met at MSG in a 120-66 blowout back in January, the widest-ever margin of victory between these teams, which Michael Porter Jr. and Co. will be desperate to avenge on Monday.
