Former UNC Charlotte athletic director lands role at NCAA

Former UNC Charlotte Athletic Director Mike Hill is joining the NCAA to lead men's basketball, including March Madness and the Final Four.

Hill was relieved of his duties at Charlotte in October 2025 after seven years at the helm of the school's athletics program, citing the need for "a new approach and renewed strategic foundation."

In March, former Clemson Deputy Athletic Director Kevin White replaced Hill.

Hill told the Charlotte Business Journal that his new job as the NCAA's vice president of men's basketball is "an incredible opportunity. It's a great fit and a fantastic next step for me. (March Madness) is one of the great sporting events in the world."
