Angel Reese Explains Struggles After Hitting New Statistical Low in Dream's WNBA Finals G4 Loss
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese reflected on her inefficient performance during the team's 67-62 loss to the Golden State Valkyries in Game 4 of the 2026 WNBA Finals.
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese reflected on her inefficient performance during the team's 67-62 loss to the Golden State Valkyries in Game 4 of the 2026 WNBA Finals.
"I think I rushed a lot of my shots and I didn't take my time and finish around the basket like I've been doing in the last three games," Reese told reporters after the loss. "It happens. I'm just looking forward to the next game and I'll just be better."
While Reese excelled throughout the first three contests of the 2026 Finals, she scored just eight points while shooting 2-of-12 from the field on Saturday.
It represented her lowest field-goal percentage in any game during Atlanta's 2026 playoff run.
The series is now tied 2-2 headed into Monday night's pivotal Game 5.
It's worth noting that Reese made plays defensively on Saturday by picking up three blocks and one steal, but also committed six turnovers compared to just three assists.
Reese wasn't the only member of the Dream to struggle offensively in Game 4. Their entire lineup shot a mere 33.3 percent from the field and 17.4 percent from three. They also committed 18 turnovers.
Atlanta's 62 points were its fewest in any game throughout the team's 2026 campaign, including the playoffs.
Still, the Dream can take control of the series once again if Reese is able to look like her usual self.
The three-time All-Star has thrived throughout the playoffs, averaging 19.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game across eight postseason appearances heading into Saturday's action. She also connected on 48.1 percent of her field goals and 47.1 percent of her triples over that span.
Reese's productivity was a key reason why the Dream swept the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Game 5 between Atlanta and Golden State is on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
