“Anything but…” NBA fans can’t believe Jaylen Brown’s viral Italian fencing clip

Jaylen Brown was spotted learning to fence in Italy, and NBA fans' responses on social media encompass the entire range of human emotions.

Jaylen Brown is on a generational side-quest run at the moment. After he recently went viral for boxing in Nigeria, he has now been clipped fencing in Italy.

Fencing is a very unique sport. It involves two competitors fighting with long, thin swords and the outcome is decided by a point-scoring system.

While fencing is quite the serious undertaking, it doesn't quite have that much overlap with basketball. So NBA fans can be forgiven for simply not knowing how to react to this video of Brown.

Brown has recently been through a big NBA change, being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers . This offseason run might be a way to process all of that.

In any case, it has thrown his fans and his haters into some confusion, to say the least. This was pretty evident in the response to his fencing video, with some people loving it and others finding a way to hate.

"Go work with your teammates and get better brah," one fan said. "Next season, this dude is going to call every isolation a duel," another joked.

"Jaylen keeps finding unusual ways to sharpen coordination and movement during the offseason," a third fan observed. "Only using his right hand too… Still can't go left!" one of his critics said, disagreeing.

Brown has always been one to follow his own path. This offseason might be the most emphatic example of that. He will need to lock in next season, though, or his doubters will use these clips against him later.
