Jimmer Fredette Wins MVP Award At FIBA 3x3 Tournament After Ending Retirement

Former NBA guard Jimmer Fredette made quite a return to competition over the weekend.

Fredette was the MVP of a two-day FIBA 3x3 tournament in Phoenix. He helped Team Miami go 5-0 and beat Amsterdam 22-16 in Sunday's final.

The 2011 national college player of the year had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 15 key assists across the entire event.

Fredette built a national profile in college at BYU and went on to spend six seasons in the NBA in addition to playing overseas. He has also represented the United States in the 3x3 format, earning a silver in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

USA Basketball named him the managing director of the men's 3x3 team in May 2025. He stepped down from the role in order to resume his playing career.

Fredette and Team Miami will travel to Deqing, China, as part of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
