Knicks Reportedly Sign John Konchar After NBA Title Run, Updated Roster for 2026-27 Season

The New York Knicks added some depth on Tuesday, signing veteran forward John Konchar to a one-year deal, per ESPN's Shams Charania .

Here's a look at the team's updated depth chart:

PG: Jalen Brunson; Miles McBride; Jose Alvarado; Tyler Kolek

SF: Mikal Bridges; Landry Shamet; John Konchar

PF: OG Anunoby; Mohamed Diawara; Pacôme Dadiet

Konchar, 30, appeared in 56 games for the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz last season, averaging 4.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 28.3 percent from three.

For his career he's averaged 4.3 points per game, spending all of it as a rotational player for the Grizzlies before last season's short stint in Utah.

In New York he's unlikely to play a major role given the team's depth at guard and small forward but will provide another solid defender on the wing.

The Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors also reportedly had interest in his services, though he ultimately chose the defending champs.

As for the Knicks, the need for a third center remains, but Konchar's signing likely solidifies the final roster barring a trade.
