NY Knicks Magical Title Run Turned Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow into a ‘Serious’ NYK Fan?

It seems that the New York Knicks ' championship journey this spring was so magical that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington went from not caring much about basketball to becoming a "serious" Knickerbocker fan.

Unless you were a fan of the Atlanta Hawks , P hiladelphia 76ers , Cleveland Cavaliers , or San Antonio Spurs , the Knicks' journey to their first NBA title in 53 years captured the hearts and minds of basketball fans around the country. And with good reason.

After losing back-to-back games to the Hawks in the quarterfinals, New York went on one of the most entertaining playoff runs in sports history. When they weren't absolutely crushing teams, they were the architects of two of the greatest comebacks in playoff history in Game 1 of the East Finals and Game 4 of the Finals. The Knicks' playoff run became must-see TV this spring and united New York in a way the city rarely sees.

NY Knicks converted Kit Harington into 'diehard' fan

Well, you can add the Englishman and actor from Game of Thrones to that list of people who were engrossed in the Knicks earlier this year. During a conversation with the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Harington revealed he was staying in New York throught the 2026 playoffs and admittedly jumped on the Knicks bandwagon.

The 39-year-old also disclosed that he was somehow lucky enough to be inside Madison Square Garden for their epic Game 4 come-from-behind win in the Finals. " I was so lucky," he confessed . "I was like so cheeky as well. I had no right to those tickets. I had zero right."

Harington then admitted he had been to very few basketball games in-person until that legendary game and it was why he felt "guilt" for having the tickets when passing serious Knicks fans on the street that night.

"But now, I consider myself quite a serious Knicks fan," Harington proclaimed.
