Breanna Stewart Calls On Angel Reese to Pay Fine After Rare Technical Foul in Liberty vs. Dream

For the first time in nearly a decade, Breanna Stewart earned a technical foul.

The New York Liberty star was fired up at the officials after what she thought was a no-call on Angel Reese during Monday night's loss to the Atlanta Dream. Afterwards, she said Reese should pay the fine for the technical foul rather than her.

"That absolutely was [because of] the no-call," Stewart told reporters . "She slapped s--t out of my hand."

Despite being one of the league's biggest stars, Stewart typically holds her composure well even when calls aren't going her way. Monday marked the first time she has received a technical foul since 2017, and it's just the third of her career.

Clearly, it takes a lot to get a reaction out of Stewart, so she must have felt strongly that the refs missed the call on Reese.

The Liberty have already secured a playoff spot, but the loss to the Dream bumped them to the No. 8 seed . They'll look to improve their standing when they face Atlanta again on Wednesday.
