Valkyries’ Gabby Williams drops epic Too Short shoutout after WNBA playoff win

The Golden State Valkyries beat the Dallas Wings , 104-80, in the first game of the team's first round WNBA playoff series on Sunday. Gabby Williams scored 20 points to go along with four assists, three rebounds and a steal in a team-high, low stress 27 minutes.

After finishing the regular season with the second best record in the league, Game 1 wasn't much more than a celebration. The home team was up by 27 at halftime and then legendary Bay Area rapper Too Short performed during intermission.

Williams kept the good vibes going during her postgame interview when she asked the crowd, "What's my favorite word?" Fans responded with the correct answer.

Williams was asked about it after the game and she explained it was for her younger self and that her family had loved it.

"That one was for middle school Gabby," said Williams. "For sure. Yeah, it's just a dream come true to be able to play in this arena. And obviously Bay Area culture, Bay Area music is just so nostalgic to me. It's what I grew up with. Just knowing Too Short was here was really, really cool for me. That's like my favorite rapper when I was a kid. So my whole family group chat was going crazy that I did that. So that made me happy."

Williams and the Valkyries will now have two days off to travel to Dallas for Game 2 where they can end the series. If the Wings win, they'll be back in the Bay on Friday for Game 3.
