Kentavious Caldwell-Pope apparently received a jarring welcome to his new city after signing this summer with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Caldwell-Pope's wife McKenzie said in video posted Friday to her TikTok the couple's penthouse unit was struck by lightning minutes after she signed a lease in Philadelphia.
According to McKenzie, the strike sounded like a loud bang followed by water pouring through cracks in the ceiling.

McKenzie added she fled the apartment by descending 14 flights of stairs because the strike had knocked out the building's elevators.
McKenzie added she had been told by an electrician there was a 1 in 400 million chance of an apartment unit getting struck like the Caldwell-Popes'.
Caldwell-Pope, who played key roles in championship runs with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 and Denver Nuggets in 2023, spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies.
He averaged 8.4 points through 51 games before he was shut down for the season after undergoing February surgery on his right pinkie.
Caldwell-Pope will hope to receive better luck in terms of both health and home as he gears up for his first season as a depth option in a backcourt led by Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
