New Additions Tacko Fall And Dean Wade Speak On Joining The 76ers

Tacko Fall , the seven foot six inch tall forward, has signed an Exhibit-10 deal to return to the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers after a four-year absence from the league .

Following the announcement, Fall spoke to Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson and shared his emotions about potentially returning to the NBA and reuniting with his former Boston Celtics teammate, Jaylen Brown , in Philadelphia.

"It is an opportunity of a lifetime that I shall not waste," Fall told Robinson. "Really looking forward to playing alongside JB and doing whatever it takes to help the team."

Fall last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022, where he came off the bench in 11 games and averaged 2.1 rebounds, 1.1 points, and 0.5 blocks while shooting 41.7% from the field. He was a teammate of Jaylen Brown for two seasons on the Boston Celtics.

Fall actually played professionally abroad rather than disappearing from the league. He played for the New Zealand Breakers in Australia's NBL after spending significant time in China, including with the Jiangsu Flying Tigers and Nanjing Monkey Kings.

Later on, he joined the Ningbo Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association. Fall continued to use his enormous size as a finisher and rim protector, averaging 11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game most recently.

Fall also tested an alternative career path , training to become a firefighter in Chicago to give back to the community before returning to basketball.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game gave American fans another chance to see Fall. With 20 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocks, he dominated the competition and demonstrated how challenging it can be to deal with his size around the hoop.

Alongside Tacko Fall, the 76ers have also given Exhibit-10 deals to Jameer Nelson Jr. and Saint Thomas. All three players are eligible for two-way deals, and the 76ers also have one roster spot open for a standard contract.

Weeks before these additions, the 76ers also strengthened their frontcourt by signing another former Cavaliers player, Dean Wade , on a four-year, $38.7 million deal. Wade spoke to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints and expressed his feelings about joining the 76ers with a bold statement.

"Trying to be as unbiased as I can, when I look at this team, it's hard to ignore the talent. It stands out immediately. This is by far the best team I've ever been on, and that's not to talk down about any other team I've been a part of."

"We had some really great teams in Cleveland with some very talented players, but this team in Philadelphia now is a step above. We are the real deal when it comes to truly being in the championship mix. There is no doubt in my mind that this team has what it takes to compete for a championship, and it seems like the media shares that mindset right now," Wade told Siegel.

Dean Wade ended the 2025-26 season averaging 5.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 77 games played across the regular season and playoffs combined. He shot 44.3% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point line.

Wade is coming off an Eastern Conference Finals run with the Cavaliers, and yet he feels this team has better prospects than his former team. Both players seem extremely confident and highly motivated coming into the season.

While it is still unclear whether Tacko Fall will be on the roster when the regular season starts, his Exhibit-10 deal makes training camp a promising opportunity to earn an NBA contract with the 76ers.

Even though most eyes are on the starting lineup, bench depth often makes a team a championship contender. Hence, it will be interesting to see how Dean Wade and potentially Tacko Fall can contribute to the 76ers' championship ambitions in 2026-27.
