Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and longtime former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson exchanged some words during Minnesota's season-opening, 131-106 road win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Johnson was in attendance for Wednesday's game, and Edwards was well aware of it, as multiple videos of them jawing with each other went viral on social media:

Ochocinco offered a humorous response to the drama in a post on X:

The beef between Johnson and Edwards began last week when Ochocinco challenged some comments made by Ant.

Per Caroline John of Yahoo Sports, Edwards spoke about his expectations for the T-Wolves during a live stream, saying, "We gon' foul the s--t out you. It's a bunch of bulls--t this year."

On a subsequent episode of Nightcap (h/t John), Johnson questioned whether Edwards and the T-Wolves would truly be a factor during the 2026-27 NBA campaign:

"Hey, that little soliloquy he gave. I mean, it was fine and dandy," Johnson said. "You know, they could be on the BS or whatever they talking about. I know they exciting. They'll be fun to watch, but they ain't scary. They going to be entertaining. You know, it's going to be worth the money. You know, outside of that, I mean, they ain't they ain't really scaring nobody."

Johnson followed that up by suggesting that the Heat were going to beat the Timberwolves in the first game of the season.

Instead, Minnesota dominated from start to finish, and Edwards looked to be the best player on the court, finishing with a game-high 45 points.
