Tyrese Haliburton Reacts to Knicks' NBA Title, 50 Cent Wedding Video & Hooping with Floyd Mayweather

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton was happy to see the New York Knicks win the 2026 NBA Finals.

"It was a weird feeling," he said of New York winning the title during an interview with Boardroom (Knicks conversation begins at 39-minute mark). "I feel like I felt every emotion. I was angry, but I was also happy. I was sad I didn't get the opportunity to compete in that."

Haliburton's Pacers stunned the Knicks in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals after also knocking them out of the 2024 NBA playoffs. He has never hesitated to taunt the Madison Square Garden crowd, and he is one of New York's top rivals in the league.

But he also explained he was happy to see his friends succeed.

"Do I think if I was healthy and we played them that we would win? Of course," Haliburton said. "I'm an NBA player, I'm a competitor. Anyone else in my situation would say the same thing. But what they did in the playoffs was special. I don't want to put down what that was because that was crazy. The whole run from the Hawks series on was unbelievable. It was mixed feelings. The Knicks, are they our rival? Yes. But I like those guys and they are friends at the same time."

While Haliburton missed the 2025-26 season as the Knicks prevailed because he was recovering from the torn Achilles he suffered in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, he did take an important life step this summer when he married his wife, Jade Jones.

And 50 Cent just so happened to perform at their wedding as well.

"It was special," Haliburton said (6:20 mark). "We've been able to have a cool relationship for a while because his alcohol is a sponsor for the Pacers, so I got to know him. … He was supposed to come to my wedding, he was helping me look for performers to perform at the wedding. I was thinking, if he came to the wedding and a song of his came on, he would jump on the mic."

He explained other artists were asking for $750,000 to perform for a half-hour, but 50 Cent volunteered. Haliburton didn't tell anyone, leaving it a surprise for his wedding guests.

"That's family," the Pacers guard said. "Forever I've got his back for that."

It was a full-circle moment for someone who said he had never met a "real celebrity" before he got the chance to play basketball with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather prior to reaching the NBA.

"Floyd can hoop," Haliburton said (26-minute mark). … "It was before I was in the NBA, so there was an expectation that I had to get my game off. … I did really well."

It's safe to say Haliburton's game has gotten better since then, and he will look to lead the Pacers to the NBA's mountaintop in 2026-27 after watching the rival Knicks take home the title when he was sidelined.
