Cleveland Cavaliers star guard Donovan Mitchell won't be entering sneaker free agency anytime soon.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania , Mitchell has agreed to a new multiyear contract extension with Adidas. He will now become the seventh active NBA player to earn a 10th signature shoe with the same brand.

Charania added that Mitchell's new deal with Adidas will also "provide students from underserved communities with access to educational resources" at his high school, Greenwich Country Day.

The other active players who have achieved a 10th signature shoe with the same brand include LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson.

Mitchell first signed with Adidas before his rookie season in 2017-18. Since then, he's released eight signature shoes in his D.O.N. Issue series, with the most recent edition dropping this past July.

Mitchell is entering his 10th NBA season and fifth with the Cavs after starting his career with the Utah Jazz. The seven-time All-Star helped lead Cleveland to the Eastern Conference Finals last year before being swept by the eventual NBA champion New York Knicks.

The Cavs didn't make many major changes this offseason, but they will remain title contenders this year after re-signing veteran guard James Harden and acquiring swingman Peyton Watson in a trade with the Denver Nuggets. With Mitchell running the show, Cleveland will be motivated to bounce back from the disappointing end to last season.

Mitchell and the Cavs will open the 2026-27 campaign on Oct. 22 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
