Lakers predicted to trade for $195M three-time All-Star bully in blockbuster multi-team deal

The Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for training camp, just like everyone else around the NBA. LA finds itself in a little bit of a roster dilemma, as the team will have to make some moves before the 15-man roster is announced.

The team currently has one player over the allowed amount, and there are three players who are in danger of being waived from the roster.

"Clearly, the Lakers need to dump someone, and I think it's going to be one of three players," Lakers insider Jovan Buha said. "It's going to either be Dalton Knecht , Jaden Hardy , or Bronny James."

The Lakers still have some question marks left to be answered. One of the biggest is the power forward position and overall big-man depth. They are still in the market for someone who can help in the frontcourt.

"The Lakers are still monitoring the market for big men, team sources told The Athletic," The Athletic's Dan Woike reported. "They traded for Walker Kessler and signed Kevon Looney to play center, and Mamukelashvili can play the position, too. The team could address the position either by trade or signing, like with potentially adding Thybulle. The roster is currently at full capacity."

Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus has named Julius Randle as someone LA should consider trading for.

"Still, if he's available, Randle would give the Lakers a very different frontcourt alongside Kessler, with Mamukelashvili backing him up. The Timberwolves sent him to the Brooklyn Nets this summer in the LaMelo Ball blockbuster. Randle doesn't fit the Nets' timeline, and while they probably won't deal him before the season starts, he's definitely a player to watch ahead of the trade deadline. Randle is expensive at $33.3 million. The Lakers would need to include LaRavia , Hardy, Knecht, and Vanderbilt," Pincus wrote.

There is nothing like a blockbuster trade to set the NBA off at some point. The good news for the Lakers is that they would be getting off contracts they already really don't want to keep.

Randle has made $195 million throughout his career thus far. He is a bully inside the paint and has developed a smooth shot from beyond the arc. This is the type of deal the Lakers could look to make sooner rather than later.
