Kawhi Leonard's first game back with the Toronto Raptors—after what was a very eventful summer—went off without a hitch.

The star forward led the Raptors to a 148-98 win over the defending-champion New York Knicks in preseason action on Tuesday night, leading all scorers with 21 points.

Scottie Barnes and Collin Murray-Boyles each added 19 points apiece for the Raptors, while James Wiseman—who is trying to make New York's final roster—led the Knicks with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double.

It should be noted, of course, that the Knicks didn't play any starters in the contest, so the Raptors were facing a much different version of the Knicks than they'll see during the 2026-27 season. The Eastern Conference is loaded, no doubt, and playoff berths won't be easy to come by. But this Toronto team, at least on paper, looks like a potential contender.
