Oklahoma City Thunder star Jalen Williams suffered what appeared to be a gruesome leg injury after landing awkwardly following a dunk during Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.
He was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering the injury (Warning: Video contains a graphic injury) :
"I don't even know. I just feel bad for him," an emotional Shai Gilgeous-Alexander said during an postgame interview. "Nothing more than that. ... It's obviously gonna be tough without a player like that. But he's not gone forever, he'll be back better than ever and we know it. We've just gotta hold the fort down until he comes back."
If Williams' injury is as bad as it looked, however, it's possible his season is over.
"Those are tough man," head coach Mark Daigneault told reporters after the game regarding the injury. "We're not doing great. That's tough on the guys. Everyone empathizes, I think both teams, in those situations. But yeah, not doing great."
The 25-year-old came into Sunday's game averaging 16.5 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three.
His 2025-26 season was also marred by injuries. He appeared in just 33 games during the regular season due to wrist and hamstring issues and only appeared in five playoff games, a major factor in the Thunder failing to get past the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals.
But he's clearly one of the pillars of the organization alongside SGA and Chet Holmgren, which was solidified in July 2025 when the Thunder signed him to a five-year rookie max extension worth up to $287 million.
Unfortunately, staying on the court has been a struggle since. With Williams, the Thunder are arguably the favorites to win the NBA title yet again. Without him, those odds worsen.
