BYU is hosting one of the top international players in 2027 class this coming weekend. Jonathan Givony reported last Friday that BYU is one of eight schools Lukic will take an official visit to this week in a whirlwind week as he visits the US. He is currently playing for a club in Spain. His BYU official visit is this coming Saturday, a source told me. Lukic is visiting the east coast schools first and will end with BYU and Utah.
Lukic was born and raised in Netherlands with a Dutch mom and Serbian father. He represents Serbia internationally and has impressed this summer and fall in international play. Lukic helped lead the Serbia U17 national team to a silver medal at the FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and shooting 42% from three. In late August, he was named MVP of the NBA/FIBA Basketball Without Borders event. A couple weeks ago, he made waves at Next Gen EuroLeague with a 38-point performance in the final game.
At the Basketball Without Borders event this summer, Lukic measured at 6-feet-9.5 inches in shoes with a 35-inch vertical leap. Lukic is a skilled wing who can operate the ball in pick in roll and is a dynamic shooter in catch-and-shoot situations and off the bounce. He is considered one of the top international players in the 2027 class and just turned 17 years old in October.
I'm not sure where things stand for Lukic, but before his visits began one international source told me to keep an eye on North Carolina and BYU. BYU has been on Lukic for months, and can use Egor Demin as prototype for Lukic to follow.
You can watch highlights of Lukic below.
