3 NBA teams that should already be worried

Should these NBA teams hit the panic button?

· 421 words

The NBA season has just started, and some fan bases could be close to hitting the panic button. Some teams have started the season with low expectations.

The Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets are 0-3, but those fans knew what they were getting into. Some franchises came in with championship aspirations, but now they're wondering if this could be a nightmare season.

It's really early in the season, and teams could still be shaking off the rust. Teams like the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are coming off long playoff runs, so they might need some extra time.

Here are three teams that should be worried already.

The New York Knicks are 0-3, and the vibes are just bad. They played two of the better teams in the Eastern Conference but lost to an Orlando Magic team without Paolo Banchero . It doesn't help that three of their main players want contract extensions but haven't gotten them yet.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and Miles McBride have all been vocal about seeking new deals. It's not an ideal start to the year for a team that just won a championship. Trades probably haven't happened yet, but you never know what James Dolan will do. They are the first defending champions to go 0-3 since the 2011-2012 Dallas Mavericks .

The Golden State Warriors could face a long, dreadful season. They're winless, have an aging roster, and one of their free agent signings might never play basketball again. Kristaps Porziņģis is out indefinitely due to symptoms of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

They blew a 12-point lead to the Memphis Grizzlies and just looked like a team that didn't trust each other. Jimmy Butler will return from an ACL injury, but he probably won't be enough to save this team. The lone bright spot for this squad is that Stephen Curry signed a two-year contract extension before the season started.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was traded to the Miami Heat in one of the biggest NBA offseason moves. It hasn't worked out so far, as the Heat haven't collected a win yet. Their offense has looked clunky, and their defense has been horrendous. They've given up at least 115 points in all three losses this season.

They have some time to figure out how Giannis and Bam Adebayo will work together. They clearly haven't found the formula yet. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is one of the best coaches in the NBA, so Miami fans should have faith that he'll figure this out.
