WNBA Playoff Picture 2026, Official Bracket Scenarios After Storm vs. A'ja Wilson, Aces

The Las Vegas Aces remained in the running for the No. 2 seed in the WNBA playoffs following Sunday's 98-77 in over the Seattle Storm, though it remains a long shot.

Because the Aces hold the tiebreaker over the Golden State Valkyries, they would earn the No. 2 seed if both teams finish tied in the standings. That would require two more Las Vegas wins and two more Valkyries losses, however.

Given that Golden State is still in the running for the top seed—and has very winnable games against Portland and Los Angeles remaining—the Aces are more likely playing to maintain the No. 3 seed ahead of the Atlanta Dream.

All playoff berths have been clinched. Only postseason seeding is yet to be determined.

The playoff seeding remains very much in flux. Indiana, for instance, could finish anywhere between No. 3 and No. 8 depending on how the regular season concludes. Sunday's loss against the Washington Mystics was particularly brutal given that the Fever finish their season with two matchups against the Minnesota Lynx.

"Every one of these games that we're playing right now are like playoff games," Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters following Sunday's loss. "We've got to understand collectively that everything has to take it up a notch. Intensity level. Preparation. Knowing personnel on our scouting report. At this time of the year, it's not meant to be pretty basketball. It's meant to be gritty basketball, and I think we have to be open to understanding that that's the case. We got knocked in the mouth [against the Mystics]."
