Stephen Curry made NBA history as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic by the final score of 126-119 in overtime on Saturday night.

Curry recorded his 16th game with at least 40 points since turning 35 years old, surpassing LeBron James for the most 40-point performances among players older than 35.

Curry finished with 41 points, six rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes on the floor against Orlando. He shot 13-of-19 from the field and 5-of-10 from behind the arc while hitting all 10 of his free throw attempts.

The Warriors started off strong on Saturday, leading 31-19 at the end of the first quarter before extending their advantage to 57-41 at halftime.

Orlando looked much sharper on both ends of the court in the third quarter, outscoring Golden State 37-20 in the period.

The two teams battled down the stretch of the fourth quarter until Magic forward Jamal Cain tapped in an offensive rebound to tie the score at 110 before the end of regulation.

Orlando took a 118-117 lead in overtime, but Golden State ended the game on a 9-1 run to emerge victorious. Curry's late heroics were crucial in the victory, scoring 19 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.

The Warriors improved to 7-3, winning their seventh straight game after beginning their season with an 0-3 record.

Curry has already established himself as one of the greatest players in NBA history, but the 12-time All-Star hasn't shown too many signs of slowing down at 38 years old.

He's averaging 31.3 points per game this season, ranking No. 3 among all players.

Curry is also recording 4.6 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals on a nightly basis while compiling 49.7/44.7/98.5 shooting splits.

The Warriors will face the New Orleans Pelicans in their next game, with tip-off on Monday at 10 p.m. ET.
