OKC Thunder announce date for 2026-27 NBA Media Day

The nine-month marathon is about to start. The Oklahoma City Thunder will hold their 2026-27 Media Day on Monday, Sept. 28. Mark Daigneault and the players will speak with the media starting around 12:30 p.m. CT. The all-day event is the celebratory start of a new year.

The Thunder enter the 2026-27 season as a co-title favorite — alongside the San Antonio Spurs . It's going to be another year where OKC contends for the first seed. It has had it for the last three NBA playoffs.

Even after a summer filled with cost-cutting moves, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander , Chet Holmgren , and Jalen Williams should suffice to keep the Thunder in the title conversation. The two-time MVP winner and both All-NBA talents are one of the most decorated trios in the league right now.

Always fun to hear Daigneault and Thunder players for the first time in months. The offseason is when NBA players typically make their largest strides in the developmental department. After moving on from several longtime role players, OKC is banking on internal growth to replace the complementary pieces.
