Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever defeated the Connecticut Sun 111-91 on Friday night in Indianapolis, behind a standout combination from Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

Indiana entered the matchup as a heavy 17.5-point favorite, per FanDuel Sportsbook and lived up to the hype, led by a double-double from Clark with 34 points on 50 percent from 3-point range and 12 assists.

With the postseason field set, the Fever continue their battle for a top-three seed in the playoff bracket with the Dream, Las Vegas Aces, Golden State Valkyries and Minnesota Lynx.

Indiana sits fourth in the league standings at 26-14. The No. 1 seed is likely out of reach for the Fever, but the No. 2 and 3 seeds are well within reach.

Despite Sophie Cunningham's quiet night offensively, she contributed two rebounds, one steal and one block for the Fever. Mitchell, meanwhile, had a standout performance with 34 points on 63 percent shooting.

At halftime, the Fever led 58-43 after an explosive second quarter in which Indiana outscored the Sun 39-15. Clark led the team with 18 points and seven assists, while Mitchell added 17 points.

The Sun's Diamond Miller led Connecticut into the break with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Despite cutting the deficit to 11 points with 4:39 remaining in the fourth quarter, the early deficit proved too much for the Sun to overcome.

The Fever held on for the win and now face a lengthy break before returning to action against the Toronto Tempo on Friday, Sept. 18, on the road.
