The United States will attempt to win its fifth straight FIBA women's World Cup over the next few weeks in Germany.

The Americans have won 11 of the 19 FIBA women's World Cups that have been contested since 1953.

Team USA is once again the favorite to win the tournament with a squad that features Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart and Paige Bueckers.

The talent gap across the world has closed in recent years, so there should be plenty of competitive games, but the Americans still have the best collection of overall talent.

The FIBA women's World Cup opens up on September 4 and will be played across two venues in Berlin. The championship game is scheduled for September 13.

The 16 teams entered into the tournament are guaranteed to play at least three group-stage games.

All of the group-stage contests take place from September 4-7. Each group has one day off in the four-day range.

The United States opens against China on September 4. Team USA faces Italy on September 6 and then closes out group play versus the Czech Republic on September 7.

Each of the four group winners advance to the quarterfinals.

The second-and-third-place teams in each group advance to the qualification round. The winners of those four games match up with the group winners in the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals are scheduled for September 10. The semifinals take place on July 12. The championship and third-place game occur on September 13.

The United States has stars everywhere on its roster.

Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers should be the faces of the national team for quite some time. Seven of the 12 players on the roster were born after 2000.

Breanna Stewart, Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Napheesa Collier and Jackie Young are the oldest players on the Team USA roster.

The rest of the roster is made up of Sonia Citron, Rhyne Howard, Kiki Iriafen and Aliyah Boston.

France is viewed as the biggest competitor to the United States.

Gabby Williams, Janelle Saluan, Dominique Malonga and Marine Johannes are among the eight WNBA players on the French roster.
