The 2026 MLB postseason is right around the corner. And with two weeks left in the regular season, every team with World Series aspirations still has a lot left to play for.

Let's break down the MLB standings and the playoff picture as it looks ahead of games on Sept. 14. (This post will be updated every day until the end of the regular season.)

What would the playoff bracket look like if the season ended today?

Wild card: No. 6 Cleveland Guardians vs. No. 3 Houston Astros

Who has clinched a spot in the playoffs?

The Tampa Bay Rays clinched their postseason berth with a walk-off win over the Astros on Friday. They have not yet secured their seed.

The Yankees' and Dodgers' magic numbers to clinch a postseason berth are down to 1.

On the NL side, the Dodgers, Braves, Phillies and Cubs all have playoff odds above 97%, according to FanGraphs . The Brewers, Braves and Dodgers are in position to win their divisions, while the Cubs currently hold the top wild card.

In the AL, the Yankees and Red Sox have playoff odds of 99% or better. Also in playoff position are the Astros, White Sox and Guardians. The Rays, White Sox and Astros currently lead their divisions, with the Yankees, Red Sox and Guardians making up the wild-card field.

But there's still a lot up for grabs in the wild-card race, as the Blue Jays and Rangers are within two games of the final spot in the AL, and the Diamondbacks are within 2.5 games of the final spot in the NL.

Once a team clinches its ticket to the postseason, there's still a lot to play for . Beyond division leads and wild cards, teams could be battling for playoff positioning until the final game of the regular season.

The Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in each league go to the division winners with the two best records. Those teams earn a bye through the wild-card round and hosting rights in the division series. Currently, the Rays, White Sox, Brewers and Dodgers are in line to claim those seeds.

The No. 3 seeds go to the third division winners — right now that's the Astros and Braves — and those teams will host three-game wild-card series against the No. 6 seeds (which go to the third wild cards). The top wild-card teams in each league — currently the Yankees and Cubs — earn the No. 4 seeds and will host the No. 5 seeds (the second wild cards) in the wild-card round.

The higher seed also gets home-field advantage in the championship series, once we get that far.

No longer do teams play a Game 163 if they finish the season with the same record. Instead, tiebreakers are determined by head-to-head records first and, if needed, intradivision records second.

The Braves have clinched the tiebreaker against the Dodgers and Phillies.

The Brewers have clinched the tiebreaker against the Dodgers.

The Cubs have clinched the tiebreaker against the D-backs, Padres and Phillies.

The Braves and Brewers split their season series 3-3.

The Rays lead the Yankees 6-3 this season with 4 games left to play.

The Rays and Red Sox are 5-5 this season with 3 games left to play.

The Red Sox lead the Guardians 2-1 this season with 3 games left to play.

The White Sox lead the Guardians 6-4 this season with 3 games left to play.
