Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy was proud of his team following a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 6-4 win in Game 4 of the NLCS on Thursday night.

"They may have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we've got a bunch of gamers," Murphy said after the victory. "And the gamers won this week."

With the win, Milwaukee clinched its first World Series appearance since 1982.

The Dodgers entered the NLCS looking to continue their journey for a third consecutive World Series title. They boasted an imposing rotation that included Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Blake Snell as well as a lineup that contained Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

Still, the Brewers' pitching staff limited the Dodgers to a .185 batting average and .525 OPS during the series. Meanwhile, Milwaukee scored at least six runs in three of the four games.

The Brewers now await the winner of the ALCS matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays in the Fall Classic.
