Where to watch the Brewers parade: Start time, TV channels, live streams for Milwaukee World Series celebration
Milwaukee will shut down Friday for a wide-ranging celebration of its long-awaited champions. Here's all you need to know to tune in.
A party decades in the making is set to take over Milwaukee on Friday.
After dominating all comers throughout the regular season and playoffs, the Brewers are World Series champions for the first time. Considering that franchise moved to Milwaukee in 1970 and the city's only previous triumph was the Braves' Fall Classic win over the Yankees in 1957, Friday is shaping up to be an all-time party.
An Associated Press story detailing the welcome the champion Braves got upon returning home from New York 69 years ago describes about 250,000 people crowding into an area two blocks wide and two miles long down Wisconsin Avenue. That's in addition to some 20,000 who reportedly greeted the team at the airport at 7:30 p.m. before they set out on a somewhat impromptu parade of 30 convertibles in 47-degree temperatures with a strong wind off the lake. Photos from that evening show an endless sea of people that forced police to clear a path so the team's vehicles could get through.
Friday's event will be much more organized, with a parade followed by a rally, but the crowd numbers figure to dwarf that long-ago celebration. It will be a day to remember for Milwaukee and Brewers fans everywhere. Here's when and where to watch, no matter where you are.
The Brewers' World Series championship parade is set to begin Friday at 10 a.m. local time, or 11 a.m. ET. The procession will travel through downtown Milwaukee on the way to Henry Maier Festival Park, where a celebration rally will follow. See the full parade route below.
