Is this the year Brewers or Padres will win their first World Series title?

· 320 words

The Milwaukee Brewers host the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Saturday night, opening the best-of-five clash.

Milwaukee won 103 games in the regular season and had the best record in Major League Baseball – earning a bye to this round – while San Diego swept the Chicago Cubs in the best-of-three wild card series to reach the NLDS.

"I think both teams are probably trying to play the same game – get out to an early lead and let the bullpen handle it the rest of the way," Padres manager Craig Stammen told reporters. "They have a great one from the last guy to the first guy that's how we feel about our bullpen too. It will be a tough series. It will probably be a lot of close games because of that."

The Padres and Brewers are two of the five MLB organizations that have never won a World Series title, along with the Colorado Rockies , Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners . San Diego last made the Fall Classic in 1998 and the Brewers' only appearance came back in 1982.
